Offline debit card payments

Formally, this is a debit card payment where the PIN code entered is not sent to the cardholder’s bank for verification, but is verified by the chip on the payment card. This is only possible if the card is inserted into the payment terminal. This is not possible with tap-to-pay payments. This term is often used informally to mean ‘deferred debit card payments’.
