PI-ISAC: working together against fraud and cybercrime
The Payment Institutions Information Sharing & Analysis Centre (PI-ISAC) is a partnership that has been uniting payment institutions in the fight against fraud and cybercrime since 2020. The initiative, set up by the Dutch Payments Association, some of its members, and the Dutch government's Digital Trust Center, provides a regular consultation platform for experts in the fields of cybersecurity, fraud, and anti-money laundering (AML). Several payment institutions are now participating, including institutions that are not members of the Dutch Payments Association.
Greater resilience through cooperation
The main objective of the PI-ISAC is the confidential exchange of information about cybersecurity, fraud, and AML-related incidents, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices. In this way, the participants aim to increase the resilience of the entire payment sector. The current focus is on cybersecurity and the fight against fraud.
Participation in the PI-ISAC
In principle, any payment institution regulated in the EU can participate in the PI-ISAC if it is not eligible to participate in the FI-ISAC. The participants in the platform meet four times a year, either in person or online. These meetings often feature an external speaker who provides information on new legislation and regulations, new forms of fraud, or other topics relevant to the participants. In addition, there are two working groups under the PI-ISAC: a Cyber Security working group and a Fraud working group. These working groups meet online every three weeks to share the latest developments. The working groups and plenary meetings are conducted in English.
